Dr Muscat is a dental practitioner with a busy clinic in central Sliema.
Dr David Muscat is the International Relations Officer of The Dental Association of Malta. He is also President Emeritus and editor of the Dental Probe Journal, which he has been for the last 25 years.
He is the DAM representative on the Council of European Dentists, the Federation Dentaire Internationale as well as the European Regional Organisation of the FDI.
At CED, Dr Muscat is on the working group of Medical Devices.
Dr Muscat was elected to the Medical Council again last year for a further period of three years- a position he has held for the last 20 years.
Dr Muscat is the representative of the Medical Council on FEDCAR- The Federation of Dental Competent Authorities and Regulators, and has represented the Medical Council in many conferences abroad.
Dr Muscat was President of FEDCAR in 2011 and Vice President of FEDCAR in 2012.Dr Muscat is the Medical Council expert on Dental EU affairs.
Dr Muscat has represented the Medical Council on ‘Professional Crossing Borders’.He has also acted as an observer for Medical Council exams carried out by the University of Malta on its behalf.
Dr Muscat is greatly involved in organising Professional lectures and courses for Continuing Professional Education in Malta on behalf of the DAM.
Dr Muscat has featured in a series of Dental Educational presentations on local TV in the past.
Dr Muscat has also represented the DAM at The Federation of Professional Associations in the past and has recently travelled to Brussels to attend a meeting with MEPs re Pensions Reform for the self-employed across Europe.
Dr Muscat has been heavily involved in the drafting of the guidelines for the Medical
Council on CPE and revalidation for locally registered dentists.
Dr Muscat is the Medical Council representative on the Specialists Accreditation Committee, which oversees registration of Dental specialists in Orthodontics and Oral Surgery in Malta.
Dr Muscat is also on the Disciplinary Subcommittee of the Medical Council of Malta.
